The Bayonne Division of Recreation has announced registration for the inaugural Fashion Design Camp. The program is open to residents only, for children in grades 6 through 8.
Fashion Design Camp will cover learning the tools of trade, the history of clothing, color theory, sneaker design, design principles, hand sewing techniques, and the use of advanced technological equipment. The program will run by Leah Jessen, who teaches Clothing Design I & II at Bayonne High School.
“We are ecstatic for this new program!,” said Supervisor of Recreation Pete Amadeo. “We have a great instructor with Leah Jessen and we are excited for this new opportunity for our youth.”
Camp will run for two weeks: from August 1 to August 12, Monday through Friday. There will be two sessions to choose from: 9 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 3:30 p.m.
The cost of the camp is $50 per participant. There are a limited 24 spaces for this program.
