Country music’s top crooners were honored at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards. And before the awards were handed out in Las Vegas, stars turned up in their finest duds to walk the blue carpet. Check out Wonderwall.com’s round up of the best and worst dressed stars of the night, starting with this win! Slinky in Saint Laurent! Our favorite country fashionista Kelsea Ballerini arrived in this black halter gown from the fashion house, which included an embellished detail at the neckline and a fitted silhouette that gave off an Old Hollywood vibe. She paired it with opera gloves and some stunning jewels, which we’ll take a closer look at next…

It was vintage Dior for Maren Morris, who arrived in this unique asymmetrical piece from the fashion house. From the funky neckline to the lace-up details, button embellishments and jagged hemline, this frock was filled with unexpected twists and turns, but ultimately landed among the misses of the night… though we did like those strappy sandals she paired it with!

Flawless! Carrie Underwood wowed at the ACM Awards in this sparkly silver design from Dolce & Gabbana. The halter minidress included a criss-cross style strap at the top and a sweetheart neckline, all embellished in gorgeous shimmery sequins. Completing the fab look? Matching super strappy sandals.

Country queen Dolly Parton arrived shimmering like a superstar on the blue carpet. The icon — who is also serving as the award show’s host! — rocked this high-neck, long-sleeved design with a metallic bodice and shimmery black floor-length skirt with peep-toe pumps for the big night.

Jimmie Allen knows how to sharpen up a country carpet! The singer arrived in this sleek silver leather suit by Ivy Hahn and added an unexpected twist when it came to styling the coordinates — a black mesh top underneath! We appreciated the style risk, and the way he added a hat, silver chain and heeled black boots by Alessandro Vasini.

It started out so strong! Mitchell Tenpenny looked sharp in a tuxedo jacket, dress shirt and black trousers, but when it came time to accessorize he ruined it all with a baseball hat and sneakers.

Gorgeous! Tenille Arts looked like a princess in this electric blue ballgown. The off-the-shoulder Njomza Uka design featured a sweetheart neckline and full skirt, complete with a thigh-high slit, for maximum glam. And we loved the way she added a pair of matching blue sandals to complete the look.

We’re used to the men of country erring on the casual side, but really, Chase Rice? The singer sported a white t-shirt, jeans and boots with a denim shirt unbuttoned and a distressed leather jacket on one of country music’s biggest nights!

Carly Pearce looked lovely in lilac in this Vera Wang gown. We adored the strapless design in the pretty pastel shade, and the way it featured a thigh-high slit and full skirt that culminated in a train. Styling it with silver Jimmy Choo sandals was also a fabulous choice!

Despite the cutouts down the center, we found Kristin Cavallari’s LBD pretty boring. The Mugler piece featured a halter-style neckline and a super high center slit that showed off her matching black Stuart Weitzmans, but this look was a bit too snoozy for us at the Vegas-based show.

Obsessed! Brittany Aldean rocked this killer minidress in a vibrant purple shade at the ACM Awards. The wife of Jason Alden’s slinky frock featured a long sleeve on one side and a slinky cutout on the other for balance. Aside from the dress, we also adored the way she paired it with light lilac sandals.

Tenille Townes always dresses to impress at country events, and the ACM Awards were no different. The singer sported this chic black pantsuit — check out those sparkly pants! — with a blazer and bralette underneath.

Yawn! We weren’t fans of Mickey Guyton’s ACM Awards look — this strapless slinky black and silver number. But despite not loving the frock, we did appreciate those phenomenal pointy-toe pumps she rocked it with.

Check out this dreamy dress! Brittney Spencer selected this pale pink and peach-hued confection, complete with a massive floral detail at the waist and a tiered and feathered skirt and sheer puffy sleeves, for a seriously sweet fashion statement at the ACM Awards.

Cassie DiLaura served up a risk in this jumpsuit in a bold all-over print. Did it pay off? We’re not so sure. The essentially head-to-toe look included a vibrant red floral printed fabric that amounted to too much in the long-sleeved, full-length silhouette.

Another star matching the blue carpet? Ashley McBryde, who donned this pretty blue one-shouldered confection with ruching at the waist in a pretty silk fabric.

Blue is for the boys too! Thomas Rhett arrived in this sharp blue suit, which he complemented with all black — an undone dress shirt and boots — for a dapper ensemble.

Brooke Eden stunned in this dreamy mermaid-esque gown, with its thin straps, plunging neckline and floor-length skirt that culminated in a wave of ruffles. We loved the rich teal shade and the way she paired it with beachy waves

Yikes! Blogger Courtney Shields showed off yet another dull black dress on the blue carpet — this halter-style silky number with a thigh-high slit. Despite the attempt to jazz it up with dark green sandals, this one was a boring miss in our book.
