Fashion show benefits pipe organ restoration at Stroudsburg church

Attention, fashionistas: here’s a well-dressed event for a good cause.

A fall fashion show takes place 6:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Stroudsburg and benefits the pipe organ restoration at the church.

The evening includes a cocktail hour and fashion show by Dunkleberger’s For Women.

There will be also be a special shopping event after the show for attendees. Some of the clothing lines and designers sold by the store include Frank Lyman, Dansko, Clara Sunwoo, tyler böe, Parsley and Sage, and Liverpool.

The Mighty Voice of the Poconos

The organ restoration project started in 2015 when the church acquired a historic pipe organ from an Easton-based church.

First Presbyterian Church’s pipe organ (dubbed the Mighty Voice of the Poconos) was built in 1926 by the Estey Organ Company and the organ offered by the Easton church was built in 1904 by the Steere Organ Company. With the help of the Gerger Organ Company, combining the best parts of both instruments, the new organ was completed in March 2020. The enlargement of the pipe organ now makes it the largest in the Monroe County, according to the church.
