College football’s coaching hot seat has already sprung five coaches at the Power Five level this season, and it could be coming for more. CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd released his updated hot seat rankings, with most who were in the preseason rankings not making any things better for themselves. At the same time, a couple of coaches have managed to turn down the pressure. Auburn’s Bryan Harsin is not one of them, as he defended his job following a 21-17 loss to Auburn in which it blew a 17-0 lead.
“I mean, that’s my job,” Harsin said, via Auburn Undercover. “Every day, (my job) is to show up and make sure that I’m prepared and that we get this football team prepared. That doesn’t change, whatsoever, and I told the team that. … This football team, they deserve that. They deserve a chance to go back out and prepare themselves and be a better football team next week, and that’s what we’ll do.
“I know the guys in that room will do that. I know our players will. I know our coaches will as well.”
