Just three days after the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards have unveiled its 2025 nominations.
“Wicked,” Universal’s Broadway musical adaptation, and FX/Hulu’s “Shogun,” a drama series set in feudal Japan, each received five nominations to lead the film and TV races.
“Wicked” is up for outstanding performance by a cast, alongside “A Complete Unknown,” “Anora,” “Conclave” and “Emilia Pérez.” Stars Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey received solo nominations, as did the stunt ensemble.
“Shogun” received nominations for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, plus nods for Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano, Anna Sawai and the stunt group.
Due to the Los Angeles wildfires, the in-person nominations announcement was canceled, and the nominees were announced on the SAG Awards website. Joey King “(A Family Affair”, “We Were The Lucky Ones”) and Cooper Koch (“Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” “They/Them”) were originally on hand to reveal the nominees.
The SAG Awards will stream live on Netflix on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall.
