‘Wicked’ and ‘Gladiator 2’ hit theaters

Twenty-one years after opening on Broadway, Wicked — starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda — finally hits theaters, casting a spell with its story of the two Oz witches when they met at school and became friends.

Also in theaters, Ridley Scott returns to the arena for Gladiator II, starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Connie Nielsen. And available to stream, Saoirse Ronan stars in Blitz, and John David Washington, Danielle Deadwyler, Samuel L. Jackson, and more star in the adaptation of August Wilson’s play, The Piano Lesson.

On TV, The Sex Lives of College Girls returns for a new season, and the Cruel Intentions series debuts. Plus, the One Chicago franchise, Law & Order, Grey’s Anatomy, and more shows have their midseason finales, while Outlander is back for the second half of season 7.
