Jessica Alba is not only a successful actress but also a businesswoman thanks to her brand, The Honest Company — but her estranged husband, Cash Warren, has links to the brand as well.
Alba, 43, founded the personal care brand in 2011 which started off with a focus on baby products. The Honest Company launched the following year with 17 products that were initially sold on its website and in various Whole Foods and Costco locations. It later expanded into home care products.
In 2014, the brand was added to Target, Buy Buy Baby and Nordstrom shelves. As The Honest Company expanded, so did its profits. It was valued at $1 billion at the time.
Two years later, Forbes estimated Alba’s net worth was around $340 million due to the success of The Honest Company. However, Forbes retracted their report in 2021.
After being behind the brand for more than a decade, Alba announced in April 2024 that she was stepping down as Chief Creative Officer. She remains on the Honest Company’s board of directors.
“Building Honest has been a true labor of love,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “From the first concept book I pitched to my friends in Mommy and Me class, to ringing the bell at Nasdaq with my family by my side – this journey has been the ride of a lifetime, one that only existed in my wildest dreams…”
At the time of her exit, The Honest Company was valued at $363 million. According to a December 2024 SEC filing, Alba and Warren, 45, both have voting and investment power as trustees over the shares held by the Warren Trust.
