With every music festival comes an explosion of personal expression through fashion. At AthFest Music and Arts Festival, attendees were able to personify who they are with the clothes they wore. Comfort, versatility and creativity were the shining themes of the outfits worn by festival goers.
The Red & Black spoke with attendees about their outfit choice for the day and what they had in mind when piecing it together.

What they wore:
Howard’s light brown floral-patterned sundress was from Old Navy, her white leather sneakers with a bronze accent panel on the back of the shoe were from Walmart and her rosy hippie-style sunglasses are Ray-Bans.
Howard kept the high humidity and heat of the day in mind when creating her outfit. “Sundresses are the way to go,” Howard said.

What they wore:
Kemelmakher first pointed out her space-cat patterned socks that Spoerer gifted her, then went into explaining that the rest of her outfit was thrifted or handed down to her. Her cropped tank top was handed down from her aunt in London, her baby blue polka dot ruffle shorts were from a local Athens thrift store and her accessories were from her friends.
Spoerer wore brown leather low-top sneakers that Kemelmakher found for him while dumpster diving, a Grateful Dead tie-dyed graphic tee he bought while traveling in the western side of the country and his army green baggy shorts – which were the convertible pants-to-shorts zipper style pants, but he lost the bottom of them, so they are now just shorts.

What they wore:
Calonius wore a button down abstract-patterned shirt from Shein, Doc Martens, and rolled-up gray shorts with a brown leather belt. Cassaday wore a colorful, flowy button-down shirt from America’s Thrift Store, dark green ASOS shorts from America’s Thrift Store and boots he found on Tuesday Morning.
They both dressed with their best outfit in mind, not paying much attention to the heat. Calonius joked he wore all black, and it was a bad decision because of the beating sun.

What they wore:
Musical artist Mo.Et wore mostly thrifted finds, and white Nike Blazers. Shaw also wore thrifted clothes, and a pop of color with her pink trucker hat from Fly Studios.
Mo.Et and Shaw kept comfort in mind when creating their outfits, mainly with Mo.Et’s baggy, loose pants and Shaw’s simple jean shorts and white T-shirt combination.
In order to beat the heat, most attendees wore tank tops, sundresses, shorts and loose tees and pants to be the most comfortable in the weather and have the best time supporting local Athens artists and bands.
