Our We Try Before You Buy series aims to take the stress out of shopping and eliminate the number of Post Office visits you make each month to return failed online orders. We test new-season buys and styling ideas so you don’t have to, and this month, our editors headed to the Réalisation flagship in Mount Street to bring you their edit of the silk dresses that are truly worth investing in.
With autumn starting to make its presence felt but rumours of another heatwave still coming, we have found ourselves well and truly in the thick of the transitional “in-between”. Too warm for cosy knits and coats, too cold for linen and tank tops, this is the point in the season when we’re at our busiest—searching for practical outfit inspiration, compiling runway reports during fashion month, and gearing up for Christmas shopping (too early for the “C” word?). But one topic that has been taking up the most space in our editor’s group chat is Réalisation.
Getting a balanced, transitional outfit right is a fine art, and dresses have been ticking the most boxes. Light, and airy when you need them to be, layering foundations when the weather turns cooler, there’s nothing a good dress can’t do; and according to social media right now, there is no one doing dresses better than Réalisation.
You will all remember the breakout success that was the Gia—first dominating our feeds in the fierce animal print, then came the ubiquitous romantic floral motifs. In only a few short years Réalisation’s figure-skimming, elegant dresses have gone from under-the-radar finds to global recognition, putting the brand on the map (and a brand new flagship in Mount Street, London). After the latest drop, the rainbow striped Cora was just as huge, we decided we had to try the dresses for ourselves to see just how one brand could rack up so many hashtag mentions. Dress them up with strappy heels, keep them casual with flat sandals (while we still have the weather), we tried on all of our favourite dresses in Réalisation right now to bring you the pieces that are really worth the purchase. Keep scrolling to see which came home with us.
The Fleur Dress

Style Notes: “I’ve long considered Réalisation Par one of the brands I can always rely on for a great dress, so finding a favourite among its already-excellent offering makes for something particularly special. Cut on a bias cut that skims without clinging, the Fleur dress marries all of the components I look for in my perfect dress.
With a perfectly measured V-neckline that balances my broader shoulders without feeling too revealing, the elegant knee-length cut, delicate lace inserts and a feminine floral print make this dress feel a little nostalgic, a little French and a little sexy all while remaining totally wearable and far from fussy.” Natalie Munro, News Writer
