One of the top cornerbacks in the country is set to bolster the secondary depth for one of many suitors as four-star cornerback Cam Miller be making his college commitment on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET on CBS Sports HQ. The late momentum on the 247Sports Crystal Ball has been in favor of Penn State, but Miller also has Virginia Tech, Air Force, Appalachian State and Duke as finalists. Miller ranks as the No. 30 cornerback nationally in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 31 prospect from Florida in the 2022 class. He’s got good size that projects well, checking in at 6-feet tall and 180 pounds. He would be a strong addition to a Nittany Lions 2022 class that ranks No. 2 nationally with 21 commits with more than half of those being four-star prospects.
Miller has been an option quarterback at Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, but has been working out as a cornerback on the camp circuit to get prepared for his college career. 247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins also notes that he could add value as a return specialist thanks to that experience as a successful ball-carrier in high school.
“Will need some seasoning and to be coached up before he reaches his full potential, but athletic profile is one of the best out of any defensive back in the entire 2022 cycle,” Ivins wrote in his scouting report. “Could line up at multiple spots in the secondary. Might ultimately settle in as a safety, but he has the hips to get it done at cornerback.”
