One of the top athletes from the 2023 recruiting class will make make his college choice live Sunday on CBS Sports HQ, when four-star prospect Adon Shuler announces his commitment at 4 p.m. ET. Shuler is considering Notre Dame, Penn State and Maryland with the Fighting Irish considered the favorite, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball. As a 6-foot-1 speedster who also competes in track, Shuler has the makings of a safety at the next level but could also play other positions, depending on how much he continues to grow. Shuler is the No. 3 ranked player from the state of New Jersey in the 2023 class and the No. 200 overall player, according to 247Sports.
Shuler took part in the Roman’s Soldiers Showcase event in April, where he earned mention as a top performer from 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn. Here was Dohn’s full synopsis of Shuler’s game:
“Shuler, who plays at Irvington (N.J.) High, can play on both sides of the ball but lined up at defensive back,” Dohn wrote. “He was comfortable in his back pedal and showed an ability to be physical at the line of scrimmage and at the top of the route. He was easily able to keep up with receivers down the field and he broke on the ball well.”
