There are a lot of wild – and silly – fashion trends that take the entire NBA by storm.

Throughout the history of the league, professional basketball players have been at the forefront of what’s popular, trendy, and hot.

They have also made a few questionable choices, to put it gently.

Jasmine Watkins made a hilarious and painfully truthful observation on Twitter about a previous NBA trend.

“The Clark Kent era had the NBA in a chokehold,” Watkins said, showcasing four instances of basketball players looking like the last son of Krypton.

Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and LeBron James all tried the look on for size 0 with varying degrees of success.

It may not have been the absolute worst trend in history but it certainly feels dated now.

Super Fashion

The incognito Superman look was certainly all the rage a few years ago and, yes, it looks a bit silly now.

But people don’t really care how obnoxious NBA players look as long as they are performing well on the floor.

Look at the four examples in the tweet above – each of them is considered some of the best in the league currently.

So what if they happened to dress like that a few years ago when everyone else was doing it?

Besides, the “Clark Kent era” isn’t the most painful in NBA history.

The late 1990s, for example, had a slew of bad outfits – especially on draft day.

At the end of the day, no one is going to remember this trend.

The only fashion item that people really care about is a championship ring.

Side note: get a look at the tweeted image of Durant – do you recognize the future Atlanta Hawks hero standing beside him?
