Women’s Basketball
-Cleveland State will take the week off from competition, returning to the court for the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic when they face Lindenwood and Campbell next week.
-Last time out, the Vikings extended their win streak to nine straight games after picking up an 86-55 victory at Central Michigan and a 75-58 win at Akron.
-The Vikings were paced by the duo of Brittni Moore and Destiny Leo who combined for 79 points on the week, with each posting a 20-point performance.
Men’s Basketball
-The Vikings will return to action on Sunday, December 18 after a finals week break, traveling to Loyola Marymount.
-Cleveland State dropped a pair of hard-fought games against St. Bonaventure and Kent State last time out.
-Deante Johnson had a big week for the Vikings, leading the team in scoring in both games – including a career-high 20-point effort against Kent State – and averaging 7.5 rebounds per game on the week.
Wrestling
-Cleveland State will return to the mat on Thursday, December 22 when they host Clarion in a dual match.
-The Vikings hosted their annual Cleveland State Open last time out, finishing with 12 placers and two champions.
-Jake Manley (133 pounds) and Douglas Terry (149) each won titles in their respective weight classes with 4-0 records on the day.
-Freshman Dylan Layton became the lone Green & White wrestler ranked last week, coming in at No. 30 at 141-pounds.
Track & Field
-The Vikings will be off from competition until after the New Year, returning to action on Saturday, January 14 at the Marshall Classic.
-Last time out, Cleveland State recorded 12 top-eight finishes on the day, including two from Dynesty Ervin.
-Freshman Promise Edeh posted a lifetime-best time in the 400 Meter Dash, finishing third in a time of 1:00.95 in her first collegiate 400 race.
Viking Of The Week Nominees

Won the Championship and Grand Championship for the Northeast Division of Smash Ultimate becoming Cleveland State’s first-ever champion.
Jake Manley, Wrestling
Went 4-0 at the Cleveland State Open to claim the championship at 133 pounds.
Brittni Moore, Women’s Basketball
Averaged 21.5 ppg on a .515 field goal clip on the week, including a career-high 26-point performance on 10-for-15 from the field against Central Michigan and a 16-point game against Akron.
