Trader Joe’s is widely known for its elevated staples, creative snacks and healthy frozen alternatives — and some customers have found a few of the products are also more cost-effective than their counterparts at other stores.

Most users celebrated the chain’s alternative for various diets and dietary restrictions — for example, one noted, the store’s non-dairy chocolate chips are delicious but also much more affordable than other grocers. Another celebrated the vegan salad dressings, including Caesar and Creamy Dill.
A handful of customers mentioned the Dijon mustard and the organic ketchup — “you can actually taste the spices in” the latter, one said.

The Unexpected Cheddar Cheese was dubbed a crowd favorite, with multiple users naming it one of their repeat buys. The brand’s site explained the “unexpected” moniker as tasting like an aged cheddar at first bite, then giving way to strong flavor and texture before seemingly morphing into an aged Parmesan flavor.
One user suggested others try the guava passionfruit whole milk Greek yogurt, while another offered another approach with Trader Joe’s European-style Organic Plain Whole Milk Yogurt — adding in smashed-up fresh mango is a similar but fresher indulgence, they wrote.
