For months now, there have been whispers that no one likes to wear jewelry anymore. Necks are naked! Wrists are bare! Fingers aren’t being weighed down! There has been a very minimalist approach to jewelry despite maximalism as a whole being on the rise.
That appears to be short-lived, at least according to the fall/winter 2026 runways. From Chanel to Chloé, models wore large, chunky necklaces that made a major statement. Long gone are the days of dainty chains layered on top of one another. It’s not even that neck, ear, and arm parties are trending again. Instead, it’s all about one big piece that packs a major punch.
From chunky collars to chokers, here are the four jewelry trends we’re preparing to see everywhere next season.
Chunky Collars

At Chanel, models wore chunky collars that looked like wearable pieces of sculptural art. While heavier than your standard necklaces, they’re far more likely to make a statement. Best of all, they can make any top instantly feel fanciful.
Big Pendant Necklaces

At Chloé, charms became cool again. They were more grown-up than your typical charm necklaces and often were big enough to stand on their own. What made them feel particularly different was the fact that they were worn over high-neck tops, unlocking a handful of new styling opportunities.
Chokers

Blame the 2016 resurgence, but chokers are finally back. These are a little different than the kind you reblogged on Tumblr. They’re a bit more elevated, like they were at Nina Ricci. Think more Marie Antoinette than Hot Topic.

If you thought the pendants were big, just take a look at the necklaces models at Saint Laurent were wearing. Not only are necklaces getting bigger and heavier, but they’re also being worn with equally large accessories. The iconic Coco Chanel quote “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off” be damned! Right now, it’s all about wearing all of the biggest pieces of jewelry you own at once.
