The Walter Art Gallery is presenting “Gadget Lands” a solo show of work by local artist, Jason Hugger, on Oct. 21, at 6425 E. Thomas Road, in Scottsdale.
An opening reception will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m., according to a press release, inviting the public to the showcase featuring Hugger’s artwork, which has been shown extensively in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
A 1995 graduate of Columbus College of Art and Design, Hugger paints what is described as “vibrant, surreal desert landscapes populated with fascinating cast-off parts and apparatuses with the goal of producing work that reveals the luminous beauty hidden in displaced objects and barren desolate horizons.”
Hugger uses found objects and creates still-life composition, the release said, noting how he imagines the long-lost bits and pieces with its beauty through paintings that evoke the desolation of the desert and obscure human objects.
