Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian‘s onscreen reunion was even more awkward than expected.
During the Thursday, February 6, episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Khloé, 40, reflected on her tumultuous marriage to Lamar, 45, after he briefly crossed paths with her friend Malika Haqq.
“Lamar was and is definitely someone that I felt was the love of my life,” Khloé told the cameras. “I got married when I was 24 and although him and I got married 30 days to the day we met, I loved him with all of my heart and soul.”
Khloé recalled putting everything into her relationship with Lamar, adding, “I took my vows very seriously and I was married for about seven years. But there were bigger things that were not fixable in that marriage. So the last time I saw him was in 2016.”
During the season 6 premiere, Khloé recalled how she “took care” of Lamar, explaining, “Then as soon as he was up and able to take care of himself then we had to part ways. It is time to just be done with that chapter.”
The former couple subsequently had a falling out that lasted “nine years.” Khloé said she “had to break contact” after she witnessed Lamar not putting in the work to better himself.
“Lamar was repeating some of the same behaviors that I just couldn’t stand for. I was shocked that he was repeating those behaviors himself while coming out of the whole Vegas accident,” she said in a confessional. “I rented Lamar a house next door to my home. He was staying there with caretakers and rehabilitating. … I went over and I walked in on Lamar doing things that he shouldn’t have been doing. I was very upset. I haven’t seen Lamar since that day.”
On the show it’s revealed that Khloé decided to reach out to Lamar — through Malika — to return some of his prized possessions. She admitted to Malika, 41, that she didn’t want Lamar to get the wrong idea, which meant putting up some invisible boundaries.
“I am fine but I just don’t want to make this a thing,” she shared. “It is hot so I would have worn a short tank dress but maybe that is giving too much. So I am in my uniform. I don’t want this to read into anything more.”
In a confessional, Khloé admitted their conversation felt off.
“I don’t know this person anymore. It is just a mindf—,” she shared. “He is visibly uncomfortable, he is nervous and sweating. I don’t know if he thinks I am going to go off on him. But he just seems scared.”
Lamar, who was sweating throughout the conversation, ultimately asked Khloé for a hug. “I don’t have a lot of emotion for this meeting. I have dealt with so much trauma in this relationship for so many years,” she admitted. “To learn how to unlove someone, it is almost like a death.”
While Khloé was saying goodbye to the past, Lamar was reflecting on his mistakes. He even called Khloé his wife, which didn’t sit well with her.
“For him to call me his wife, words are empty,” she explained. “When it was great, it was spectacular. When it was bad, it was horrific.”
After ending her marriage to Lamar, Khloé moved on with Tristan Thompson. The duo expanded their family with daughter True in 2018. Days before her arrival, Tristan, 33, cheated on his then-pregnant girlfriend with multiple women. Khloé and Tristan initially stayed together but split when he kissed her sister Kylie Jenner’s BFF Jordyn Woods in 2019.
Tristan and Khloé continued to date off-and-on before their son, Tatum, was born via surrogate in 2022. Lamar brought Tatum up during Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians.
The episode ended with a “To Be Continued” message but the preview hinted at a fight between Lamar and Khloé. In the sneak peek, the reality star specifically calls Lamar out for lying to her over the years.
Hulu releases new episodes of The Kardashians every Thursday.
