Regarding “Conservative Decisions Drive Court Term” (U.S. News, July 1): The Constitution is clear that not all rights are enumerated. When the Supreme Court cancels a right because it isn’t explicitly cited (control of one’s body) and then creates a right that also isn’t explicitly cited (arms for self-defense), its credibility is strained. An unbalanced court is coupled with a dysfunctional political order that can only theoretically check its power. Public opinion of the court isn’t positive and is likely to decline further as rulings align with the same partisan positioning that formed the new court.
