I’m going through a beautiful phase right now, feeling like I’m closer to achieving the right balance of parenting and work. Speaking as a former workaholic, there is nothing more that I would love to do than homeschool my daughter. Unfortunately, I have to pay the bills, but I dream about it every day.

How has motherhood changed how you think about your personal style?
I appreciate my style today. I honestly feel like I’ve never dressed so well. It still represents my younger self, and the unique style ingrained in my soul, but it’s more sophisticated. When I was in my early 20s, I dressed pretty wild because my day-to-day life was building Shop Jeen, one of the first e-commerce retailers to really blow up on social media and embrace internet culture. But I never felt good wearing what we carried because of my weight. Now I shop confidently and really know what works for my body.
Has having a child contributed to or influenced your method of working?
I feel like I work smarter, not harder. I used to brag about working so much. Now, I’m like, “Uhhh that’s not cute.” My daughter, Waffle, deserves to be the biggest receiver of my effort and energy.
