ast week couldn’t have brought more pizzaz as the streets of New York closed the NYFW with an upbeat vibe. Meanwhile, Valentine’s day called and the stars answered with major doll-ups that stole our eyes, giving Cupid a reason to strike our hearts. And if that wasn’t enough, the 76th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) brought the glam game to a crescendo characterized by opulence, intrigue, and unapologetic charm.
The Looks
Makeup
The red carpet was Jodie Turner-Smith avenue to sparkle, and sparkle she did! At the British Academy Film Awards last week, the model donned one of the best BAFTAs beauty offerings on the carpet. Her look, created by Joey Choy, featured well-emphasized eyes and a spray of crystals across her cheekbone. The witty choice of purple and blue eyeshadow complemented her outfit and jewelry, and her glossy lips undoubtedly balanced the high-glam look.
EGOT club member, Viola Davis also brought the purple rain, howbeit in a subtler take than Smith. For the BAFTAs, Academy Award-winning makeup artist, Sergio Lopez-Rivera played with a purple eyeshadow baptized in glitters to enliven her eyes and add some fun to a generally toned-down beat.
Hair
As expected, the best BAFTAs wasn’t the only place that saw a good dose of beauty looks. Last week, at the PatBO show, social media sensation Chels showed up in a celestial mane that married cornrwos, braids, and wild adornments.
