Texas uses late comeback to snatch Game 1 of WCWS from Texas Tech — 06/04/2025

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – If Game 1 is any indication, the 2025 Women’s College World Series will feature no shortage of entertainment.

Entrenched in a pitchers’ duel, Texas found a way to overcome a 1-0 deficit when Reese Atwood refused to be intentionally walked, swinging at ball 4 in what proved to be a game-changing moment.

After Atwood’s heroic hit, just 3 outs stood between the Longhorns and a Game 1 victory.

Before the 2-RBI single, Texas Tech struck first.

Texas’ Kayden Henry joined Ryan Radtke & Erin Miller after the Longhorns’ Game 1 win.

Game 2 takes place on Thursday night.
