The “Empire” spin-off has been put on hold.
The hit drama will be transformed into a new spin-off series, but Taraji P. Henson, who plays the role of Cookie Lyon, has revealed that plans for the show have been suspended for the foreseeable future.
Regarding the series that aired last year, she explained:
“For me, the script must be correct. It must be worthy of the audience. We must give the audience something wonderful, and sometimes you need time. I think.
“I think absence will caress your heart.”
In the short term, Taraji is preparing to host a BET Awards this weekend and is excited ahead of the ceremony in Los Angeles.
Hollywood stars are keen to help people “forget the world’s worries and worries.”
She tells “Entertainment Tonight”:
“I’m always trying to make you laugh and forget about the world’s worries and worries. I’m looking forward to a lot of fun and a lot of laughter because that’s what I want to do.”
Taraji also revealed that the next show will focus on celebrating the influence and achievements of black women like Queen Latifah.
She states: “What I especially like this year is celebrating black women.
“This year is the year of black women, because black women have made incredible progress in changes in history, politics and music. To name a few, we have done so.”
