The Tam High boys water polo team ran the table over the weekend at the Vintage tournament en route to claiming the title.
The Red-tailed Hawks defeated Del Oro 13-6, Cardinal Newman 20-1 and Foothill 15-11 on Friday to advance to the semifinals.
Tam edged Northgate 14-12 in the first game on Saturday then secured the crown with an 11-9 victory against Las Lomas.
- Santiago Jimenez scored 30 goals over the course of five games to lead San Rafael to a 4-1 mark at the Vintage Classic over the weekend. San Rafael dropped its first game to Piedmont, 9-8, but then reeled off four wins in a row — 17-7 over Kennedy, 14-2 against Napa, 12-10 over Marin Catholic and 13-6 against San Marin.
Girls water polo
Marin Academy swept through four teams to win the Sierra Shootout this past weekend. The Wildcats defeated Cardinal Newman, El Camino, Del Campo and Northgate en route to the title.
Girls golf
Rose Malen shot a 1-over-par 32 at McInnis Park, leading Marin Catholic to a 167-190 victory against San Marin. Leilani Brennan shot a 41 to lead the way for the Mustangs.
- Piper Egan paced Terra Linda with a 44 and teammate Eleanor Johnson followed with a 45 during a 192-242 win against San Rafael. Piper Pomeroy paced the Bulldogs with a 54.
