BRIDGEWATER – Strive2Move, a sports medicine concierge-style rehab practice, moved to the Martinsville section of the township late last month.
The practice offers chiropractic and sports medicine rehabilitation, said Justin Rabinowitz, the founder/CEO of Strive2Move.
But, while the location is new, the practice is not. Strive2Move will be celebrating its six-year anniversary this month.
Before relocating, Strive2Move had two locations, one in Warren and one in Berkeley Heights. “But, once we moved here, we shut those down. We are 100 percent here,” Rabinowitz said.
“We focus on basically active adults so, 30-plus, 30 to 55. We do see some high school and college athletes, but 85 percent of our patients are what I would call an active adult, whether it’s golf or CrossFit or tennis or running,” Rabinowitz said.
The new location, which has a staff of nine people including Rabinowitz, is in a 1,000-square-foot space in a storefront on Washington Valley Road.
“It has a normal reception area with a coffee bar and some products like that, but I think the feature of the space and one of the things that we’re most excited about is, in the back, we essentially have a gym, so we have a barbell and a squat rack, and kettlebells and dumbbells. And for our patients, this is probably the most important thing because our patients are so active that many of them do work out and they do exercise,” Rabinowitz said.

Taking the time to get to the root cause of an injury is a hallmark of the practice, Rabinowitz said.
“If you came to see with back pain and you’re a runner or you’re a CrossFitter, we’re not going to just look at your back. Most of the time, traditionally, you’re going to go to the doctor and they’re going to take an X-ray and MRI of your back and they might do some localized treatment on your back, but they didn’t take a look at your knee or your hip or your core muscles,” Rabinowitz said.
“And, so, the biggest thing that we offer people is a full-body assessment, very specific to the activity that they’re doing, and we always want to make sure that we’re truly addressing the root cause. So if you come to us with back pain, but we find that your hip range of motion is limited or it’s weak, we know that that’s going to feed into your back. And no matter how much back exercises or stretching or pain pills or injections you get in your back, you’re never going to fix the actual problem.”

“We were obviously scared and didn’t really know what was happening and what to do. We saw a lot of casualties and obviously, being a hands-on business makes it very tough,” Rabinowitz said. “We were fortunate in a couple ways. We still utilized Zoom and we did a lot of virtual sessions, which was able to keep us afloat fortunately. And, I think the thing probably I’m most proud of, through the last year, is that we didn’t have to lay any staff off during COVID, and we actually grew in 2020.”
