Spider Athletics Announces COVID-19 Protocols For Spring Sports

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond athletics department is welcoming fans to home events this spring. The safety of our student-athletes, staff and fans remains our top priority so we can cheer on our Spiders in person this season.

The University of Richmond continues to monitor conditions closely and adjust our COVID-19 protocols as needed to maintain the health and safety of our community. In accordance with national, state, local and University COVID-19 protocols, Richmond Athletics has adopted the following requirements for all athletic venues at the start of the fall sports season.  We ask that you please stay home if you are sick or showing symptoms related to COVID-19.

  • All fans are presently required to wear masks INDOORS (including restrooms), regardless of vaccination status.
  • If you are unvaccinated, you need to wear a mask OUTDOORS in settings where you are not or cannot maintain physical distance between you and others, especially when in Robins Stadium concourses (near concessions areas).
  • If you are fully vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask OUTDOORS, except in Robins Stadium concourses (near concession areas).
  • To assist you, Spider Athletics will have a limited number of masks at all gate entrances for fans.

The University of Richmond has developed and implemented a physical distancing framework which provides guidelines that are intended to promote the health of the campus community. To start the 2022 spring sports season the University of Richmond will be operating in the lime stage.
