Kody Brownâs behavior toward a powerful man vs. a powerful woman was called out during the season 4 finale of Special Forces.
The Thursday, November 20, episode of the Fox series showed the remaining recruits take part in a simulated capture exercise where Kody, 56, Brianna LaPaglia, Andrew East, Shawn Johnson East and Gia Giudice were individually interrogated.
Kody struggled when being questioned by a female member of the intelligence operation.
âI have been known for my intense personality. So when it is raining, it is bad. When it is sunny, it is good,â he explained in a confessional. âI might be a little mercurial. I am not as steady as I would like to be.â
The Directing Staff (DS), who was watching Kodyâs interrogation over the cameras, noted that the Sister Wives star âcanât even look at her in the face.â The conversation took an even more awkward turn when the woman asked Kody about his personal life and he revealed he had 18 kids with four wives: Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown.
Kody was asked how he was able to have 18 children, to which he simply replied ânatureâ and then shut down again.
â[This is] not a good session at all,â the DS members said. âHe hasnât tried to build a rapport.â
The mood shifted once a male member started to question Kody instead. âHe is charming when he knows there is a powerful man, he brings himself down,â the DS added.
Kody previously discussed his biased outlook on men vs. women after joining season 4.
âI am going to say this at the risk of sounding sexist,â he shared in a September episode. âI think men want to be respected and women want to be loved. I donât care if you love me, but I care if you respect me.â
In another episode, Kody explained his approach to the show, saying, âTo do hard things is to be good at being a man. Every once in a while you need proof of who you are.â
Kody previously opened up to Us Weekly about some of the battles he personally faced while competing.
âThere was one time when my muscles gave out,â he said in September. âWe were supposed to be swinging across monkey bars and I had sand on my hands, and I couldnât cup the monkey bars. I just didnât have the strength anymore to do it.â
Kody also recalled the DS instructors trying to haze the recruits.
âI donât even know what they call the punishment,â he shared. âWeâre standing and Iâve been in this water, and I started to shiver. I donât want the DS [to see] that. I donât want them seeing any signs of weakness because theyâll play on that.â
According to Kody, he leaned into a fake wheeze to make it seem like he was hitting his limit.
Kody added: âI knew that my limits physically were never reached. I had more to give physically.â
Special Forces: Worldâs Toughest Test is currently streaming on Hulu.
