Investment RationaleShriram Transport posted Q4 earnings of Rs 10.9 billion, 32% above the brokerage’s estimate ofRs 8.2 billion and 19% above consensus. Operating income came in 6% above our estimateon account of interest write-back of Rs 1.06 billion (1% beat on our numbers excluding one-off). Used vehicle AUM increased by 70 bps as new vehicle disbursements picked up inQ4. NIMs improved on re-pricing of LT debt and higher interest write-back. Lower creditcosts (management overlay provision of Rs8bn consumed in Q4) and Rs 0.82 billion of taxreversals also boosted earnings. The proposed merger with Shriram City (SCUF) is ontrack and has been approved by BSE and NSE. For FY23, SHTF has guided for 12% YoYstandalone growth and 15% growth for the merged entity.

Promoter/FII Holdings
Promoters held 26.45 per cent stake in the company as of 31-Mar-2022, while FIIs owned 53.88 per cent, DIIs 14.0 per cent.
