Schall takes on critical matters impacting sports nutrition

The Sports & Active Nutrition Summit is back in San Diego, February 15-17, 2023. The event will bring together scientists, formulators, consultants, and regulatory experts to move the sports nutrition category forward. Day one will kick off with State of the Industry, which will address key challenges the sports and active nutrition industry is facing.

‘A wild string of events’

While the US economy has recovered from the pandemic quicker than anticipated, the bounce back in demand has stressed supply chains and caused inflation to jump. These supply chain disruptions have put a major strain on the global supply, with climate issues only adding to the problem. And as the dietary supplement industry and the world struggle to confront inflation, we’re also faced with a war between Russia and Ukraine that could depress world growth. So what can we learn from this complex set of challenges?

The upcoming Sports and Active Nutrition Summit will tackle these issues head on in our State of the Industry session featuring Joshua Schall, principal of J. Schall Consulting. Schall will use his functional CPG insights to dissect how the pandemic accelerated e-commerce adoption,  shifted consumer behavior and how businesses can maintain brand loyalty in today’s volatile world.

“Whether it’s the supply chain chaos, geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures, recessionary fears, or pandemic-induced consumer behavior shifts, sports and active nutrition industry professionals would have an extremely hard time naming a wilder string of a few years in the space. With uncertainty at an all-time high, my goal is to provide attendees with a collection of insights that help them ‘see around corners’ so they can turn risk into opportunity,” said Schall.
