Congratulations to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on her confirmation to be the newest addition to the final say of judgment in America, the Supreme Court (SCOTUS). After watching the TV hearings of that confirmation and reading her qualifications, she will surely be good for the court.
My only negative thoughts about the process came from her nominator openly proclaiming he wanted a “Black female” for the position; in my world a position of such importance should always go to the person most qualified, period. Can you imagine the uproar should any government employee position be advertised in such manner?
Despite that belief, I am happy to see the Court get Judge Jackson, for when it comes to that final say of judgment, America needs the diversity those two nouns the president used represent.
