Braves’ best move of trade season might not even be a trade after all
Few teams have been as surprisingly good this season than the Arizona Diamondbacks, who find themselves just 1.5 games back from the NL West lead with an impressive 30-23 record.
They’re set to begin a weekday series against a divisional opponent in the Colorado Rockies, with Game 1 scheduled to take place on Memorial Day.

The Diamondbacks offense must be licking its lips when looking at the pitcher they get to tee-off on today. Karl Kauffmann will get the start for the Rockies, and he’s been atrocious in his first two Major League starts, sporting an 0-2 record and a 9.35 ERA.
Now, he has to face an Arizona offense that’s fifth in the Majors in OPS against right-handed pitchers, sporting a mark of .764.

I have no faith the Rockies offense is going to be able to keep pace. Colorado is 27th in the Majors in OPS when playing away from Coors Field, racking up an OPS of only .648.
Ryne Nelson gets the starts for the Diamondbacks, and after getting off to a rough start to his 2023 campaign, he seems to have found his stride. He’s allowed only only earned run in his last 11.1 innings pitched.
I’ll back the DBacks on the run line today as I’m expecting they’ll win with margin over the lowly Rockies.
