Reba McEntire
Reba McEntire will get to enjoy the Country Music Association Awards from the audience this year. The superstar, who hosted last year’s ceremony with Darius Rucker and the 2019 edition with Carrie Underwood and Dolly Parton, will not return as host for Nov. 10’s 55th Annual CMA Awards, Billboard has learned.
When asked in a recent interview with Billboard, McEntire said that she was not coming back “to my knowledge.” The CMA confirmed that she will not be hosting and that it expects to name the new host in a few weeks for the show, which will return to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

The move gives McEntire a rare rest from hosting duties. She also has a long history of hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards, most recently in 2018 and 2019. Prior to that stint, she hosted the ACMs solo or with Blake Shelton from 2001 to 2012 (the show went without a host in 2005). She also hosted in 1986 with Mac Davis and John Schneider, in 1988 with Hank Williams Jr. and in 1994 with Alan Jackson.
She also previously hosted the CMA Awards in 1990 with Randy Travis, solo in 1991 and with Vince Gill in 1992.
