WESTFIELD — City Councilor Bridget Matthews-Kane opened the first Finance Committee meeting of the whole budget review on May 23 by inviting Westfield’s treasurer, auditor and assessor to give a financial overview of the city.
Matthews-Kane said she wanted to start with the larger picture in order to understand the context for the council to review department budgets.
