Prince Andrew tested positive for coronavirus, leading him to will miss the Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Friday, Buckingham Palace announced.
“After undertaking a routine test the duke has tested positive for COVID and with regret will no longer be attending tomorrow’s service,” a spokesperson for the palace revealed.
Prince Andrew was previously expected to attend the thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Though it’s unclear what his symptoms are, SkyNews reports that he was pictured on Wednesday riding a horse on the Royal Estate in Windsor.
According to The Times, Andrew has seen Queen Elizabeth in recent days, but he has not come in contact with her since testing positive.

The Queen recovered from COVID-19 in February, which she said left her feeling “very tired and exhausted,” per PEOPLE.
The Duke of York did not appear on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to mark the kickstart of the Platinum Jubilee on Thursday after the Queen’s decision to only have working members of the royal family by her side. The 62-year-old is no longer a working royal following his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew was also hit with a lawsuit from a sexual assault survivor. It has been speculated that Queen Elizabeth may have contributed to the settlement in the case.
