Kathleen Parker’s April 1 column criticized the way Sens. Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham questioned Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. I think it was very appropriate of the senators to ask her why she was so lenient in the sentences of cases involving children.
When President Trump nominated judges for the Supreme Court, we saw the Democratic senators grill the nominees exactly the same way the Republican senators did — but there were no columns from Ms. Parker on how bad that was.
It just seems to me that if you don’t like Republicans it’s OK to condemn the things they do, but if you’re a Democrat supporter it’s not OK to condemn the things Democrats do. The double standard is out there and it shows.
