Oakland police were investigating a shooting at a sports bar on Thursday night that left one person dead and several others injured.
The shooting occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the Halftime Sports Bar at 316 14th Street in downtown Oakland. Police said one person died and others were taken to hospitals after someone opened fire from a car.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an adult male victim with gunshot wounds, police said. Paramedics provided aid but he later died at the scene.
Officers also found an adult female at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound and she was transported to a local hospital. She is in critical but stable condition, according to the police department.
Three additional adult male victims sustained gunshot wounds at the scene, which became known on their arrival at a local hospital, according to police. Their condition is not available at this time.
Oakland Police’s Homicide Divison is conducting a follow-up investigation but no suspect is known at this time.
The violence occurred as people were celebrating the Golden State Warriors’ championship win over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
