If you’re looking for a dreadfully good time this Halloween, boogie on down to the North Fork Grange Hall at 131 Dutch Creek Road in Junction City for its annual Halloween Dance Party and Costume Catwalk contest.
On Saturday, Oct. 29, the doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and music begins at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $20 per person, and kids 16 and under are admitted free. Attendees will be getting their grotesque groove on with the feel-good sounds of Redding’s Hook Band.
At 8:30 p.m. the Costume Catwalk will begin. The Grange has $300 in cash and prizes to dole out to the best-costumed freaks. You will not only be judged on the creativity of your costume but also on how well you play the part as you strut your stuff down the catwalk. There will be three categories – best in kids (ages 14 and under), best single adult, and best in groups (of two or more).
Thanks to the Grange’s community partner, Ascend Wilderness, they’ll be offering Trinity County Brewing Company’s brews on tap. Raymond’s Good Lovin will also be onsite serving up homemade meatball sub sandwiches, traditional Chinese orange chicken with rice and fresh veggie shish kabobs.
