New Spurs have a confident fashion sense and Manu Ginobili wants to follow suit

New Spurs player Jeremy Sochan made a splash with his Draft Night fit, a lilac Indochino suit with a Van Gogh-inspired lining. Ginobili was one of many who took note of the confident style.

“I think I now know who can help me choose my HoF outfit. We need to talk,” his tweet, emphasized by a few emojis reads.

The No. 9 draft pick responded: “I got you!”

Sochan explained his fashion choice in an NBA TikTok on Draft Night, saying his blonde hair made the color of the suit “look cool.”

Sochan and his fellow Spurs draft picks Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley have been getting a warm welcome since arriving in San Antonio over the weekend.

Mayor Ron Nirenberg welcomed them to the city via Twitter on Sunday, June 26. The header photo on the Spurs’ official account was also changed to show the trio side-by-side.

While Sochan’s striking outfit is memorable, he’s not the first to up the team’s fashion game in the post-Duncan era. Former Spurs player Patty Mills always had looks when he stepped out with wife Alyssa at San Antonio fashion events. Tre Jones sported Dolce & Gabbana athleisure outfits during his rookie season. He started making a mark in the local sports scene’s fashion sense with his draft night, when he wore a Valentino coat.

Ginobili’s Hall of Fame induction is scheduled for November 5. When Duncan was inducted in May 2021, he elevated his closet with a standard but sleek white shirt with a sports coat. Will Ginobili follow suit or take tips from the new guys? We will have to see.
