With the score tied in extra innings, Jett Pryor produced the winning hit Tuesday night for Mt. View Monument in the T-Ball Tournament in Centertown.
The score was tied 32-32 when Jett stepped to the plate as the last batter in the bottom of the fifth. He belted a shot that reached the outfield to allow the winning run to score, 33-32, as Mt. View Monument defeated D&D Home Improvement in a thriller.
A comeback seemed improbable in the bottom of the fourth when base running errors looked like they would doom Mt. View Monument with two outs made around third base. But Sadie Clark managed to score the tying run and force a second extra inning when she used a burst of speed to beat Emma Simpson of D&D to the plate by a step.
Top scorers for Mt. View Monument with 5 runs each were Rylee Mann, Brinley Deaton and Sadie Clark.
D&D Home Improvement played a great game and was just a step away from advancing to the tournament finals. The team had some hard hits and the defense made several outs thanks to hustling plays.
Leading the D&D offense with 5 runs each were Candy Potter, Chayton Biles and Dylan Partin.
The win advances Mt. View to the T-Ball Tournament finals Friday night against Cherry Springs Nursery.
