ADFAC will host “The Starry Night,” its 9th annual Bill Wilcox Bow Tie Event on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Doubletree Hotel in Oak Ridge. In addition to celebrating this year’s awardee, Jim Dodson, the fundraising event will also host an entertaining concert by local band, The Missing Goats.

This self described “pub band” features members Tom Beehan, Mary Tuskan and Steve Reddick, as well as guest player, Gary Coleman with a repertoire including Irish, Scottish, Bluegrass and Appalachian songs. Band members have a love for Ireland so much so that they have travelled to Ireland for concerts (and a little travel fun along the way) and performed at many local St. Patrick’s Day activities.

The band has performed since February 2018 at a variety of local venues, churches, festivals and nonprofit fundraising events and even hosted several virtual and outdoor concerts during the pandemic, including the 2020 ADFAC Bow Tie Drive By.

“We are so pleased The Missing Goats have joined us again for a repeat performance for the Bow Tie event,” said Wendie Aurin, ADFAC’s Bow Tie chair. “Their love of music and community make them a perfect fit for our event and it’s extra special as Jim Dodson is a big fan of this band!”
