Milan’s Fair earns win, Rose Run champs crowned

FLAT ROCK – Fourth-generation driver Max Fair of Milan won his first 50-lap Street Stock A Main race at Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday.

Fair went to work after a caution flag, moving up from sixth place to snare the lead midway through the race and never gave it up.

Rob Moore Jr. of Wyandotte was second, Trevor Farmer of Ypsilanti third, Greg Studt of Flat Rock fourth and David Liaeff of Holland, Ohio, fifth.

Taylor Papineau of Flat Rock was the 20-lap B Main winner.

Max Fair of Milan (104) leads the pack during a Street Stocks A Main feature race at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night.

Frank Jiovani of Harrison Township became the seventh winner in seven events this season for the Outlaw Super Late Model division, and Billy Earley of Romulus edged Jacob Lee of Taylor to win the Michigan Figure 8 Championship.

Rayce Metdepenningen took the checkered flag for Factory Stocks.

Flat Rock will feature a rare Friday night racing card this week. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free and receive a free hot dog and drink.

Rose Run crowns champs

PETERSBURG – Brendon Thompson of Petersburg and Seanna Schmidt of Milan were the overall winners at the 13th annual Rose Run on Saturday.

Thompson was the men’s champion with a time of 18:13.3.

Schmidt topped the women in 21:14.2.

Male division winners were Zachary Lefevre of Blissfield (9-under), Isaak Robley of Monroe (10-14), Evan Suydam of Toledo (15-19), Curtis Manore of Petersburg (20-24), James Wilder of Petersburg (25-29), Nathan Merrill of Ypsilanti (30-34), Brandon Stoner of Petersburg (35-39), Matt Carpenter of Morenci (40-44), John Eby of Temperance (45-49), Scott Salow of Concord (50-54), Rick Coleman of Milan (55-59), Tom Fridrick of Sylvania (60-64), Mark McLaughlin of Monroe (65-69), Ron Carpenter of Hudson (70-74) and Jason Krach of Petersburg (Masters).
