The goal of this event is to find new ways to assist women in accessing financial services and thus economic empowerment. Although the detailed agenda has yet to be released, the 2020 virtual edition of the summit offered programming on topics such as the effect of world crises on low-income women, digitized wages, inclusive insurance, resilience, leadership and diversity, government-to-person (G2P) payments, gender-lens investing, and regulatory technology (regtech). The 2023 summit will include pitches by participants in the Fintech Innovation Challenge, which offers later-stage financial technology firms support in user experience design, public relations, mentorships and networking as they relate to serving women. Applications for the 2023 Fintech Innovation Challenge are now open.
Background on Organizer: The US-based NGO Women’s World Banking (WWB) supports financial solutions for low-income women via partnerships with 62 institutions in 35 countries serving 138 million female clients as of 2021. The organization had 2021 expenses of approximately USD 16 million, and its asset management arm has placed USD 58 million in equity in financial services providers serving women.
Cost: The fee to attend is USD 1,200, although a discounted rate of USD 800 is available until September 9.
