Mark Hoppus is fighting cancer.
Blink-182 Rocker revealed that he had been quietly fighting cancer for the past three months and admitted that he was “scary” about what his diagnosis meant.
Mark released the news on social media but did not identify the type of cancer he was diagnosed with.
He writes: “For the last three months I’ve been on cancer chemotherapy. I have cancer. It’s terrible and scary. At the same time, I’m blessed with great doctors, family and friends to get over me. ..
“I’ve been treated months ago, but I want to stay hopeful and positive. I can’t wait for my cancer to go away and see you at a concert in the near future. Everyone. Love for “
Next, the “I Miss You” hit maker posted an Instagram photo of himself sitting in what looks like a clinic, with the following caption: When the cancer treatment is over, please (sic) “
Mark deleted the post immediately after uploading.
At the time of writing, nothing else is known about Mark’s diagnosis, but his health does not appear to be hindering his commitment to new music.
Rocker announced last month that he was writing new music for Blink-182, completed by Matt Skiva and Travis Barker, confirming that it was in progress.
When asked about new music during the May Twitch stream, he said:
“So while we’re talking, the next recording is happening. It was a new blink, not Simple Creatures or anything else.”
The band’s last record was 2019’Nine’. Recently, I asked my fans to send me clips to sing, wash my hands, cook, and try out the TikTok video on the DIY music video for the track “Happy Days.”
