Madea is back, baby! For roughly two decades, Madea and her extended family have appeared in over a dozen films and numerous TV series. Now, the franchise’s latest installment, Madea’s Destination Wedding, is streaming on Netflix.

Written and directed by Madea mastermind Tyler Perry, the film starts when Madea’s nephew Brian (also played by Perry) learns that his daughter Tiffany (Diamond White) is marrying a rapper she just met. Oh, and the wedding? It’s happening in the Bahamas in two weeks.

As Brian questions Tiffany’s glitzy fiancé, Zavier (Xavier Smalls), Madea is off on her own and curious if Brian’s ex Debrah (Taja V. Simpson) has her own reasons for fast-tracking Tiffany’s special day.

Longtime fans of the Madea cinematic universe will be happy to see several familiar faces returning in this entry. Read on to find out who’s in the cast of Madea’s Destination Wedding and where you’ve seen them before.

Tyler Perry may be best known for creating and starring in the wildly popular Madea franchise, but his impact on Hollywood stretches far beyond the wig and glasses.

Perry has developed a wide range of TV shows, including Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (2006–2012; 2020–present), The Oval (2019–present), Beauty in Black (2024–present), and She the People (2025–present).

He has also directed several feature films outside the Madea-verse, such as A Fall from Grace (2020), A Jazzman’s Blues (2022), and Straw (2025). His body of work has earned over $660 million at the box office, according to Forbes.

While he’s acted in many of his own projects, Perry occasionally pops up in the films of other directors, with notable roles including Alex Cross (2012), Gone Girl (2014), Vice (2018), and Don’t Look Up (2021).

In Madea’s Destination Wedding, Perry plays multiple roles: Madea, her brother, Joe, and Joe’s son, Brian. Speaking to PEOPLE in June 2025, Perry said the film’s setting brings a fresh twist to the classic Madea chaos.

“Audiences have enjoyed watching Madea in hilariously entertaining scenarios as the family’s matriarch, but now she’s a fish out of water on vacation,” he said.

Outside of Perry’s work, Mann co-created, produced, and starred in Mann & Wife (2015–2017), a sitcom in which she starred alongside her husband, David Mann. David is another frequent Perry collaborator who, weirdly enough, plays her dad in the Madea world.

In addition to her music and acting, Mann launched the Tamela Mann Collection in 2019, a fashion line focused on athleisure and workout wear for curvy women.

In Madea’s Destination Wedding, Mann reprises her role as Cora, Madea’s daughter, who joins the family for Tiffany’s wedding in the Bahamas.
