Lila Moss Felt “Effortless And Dangerous” In Knwls At The Fashion Awards

Lila Moss turned to Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault – the duo behind London-based brand Knwls – to create a custom look for her to wear the Fashion Awards 2022. The result? A super-fine, semi-sheer silk-georgette dress with a train that ensured that Lila felt “effortless and dangerous” on the night.

Knwls has made its name supplying party pieces to the fashion pack, but this occasion marks the first bespoke evening look from the brand. “We always dabbled in evening wear, but never had the capacity or the time to fully flesh it out,” say the couple, who add that it was “great to find the right person and the right time to do it”. “Lila is such a sweet person and so confident, she embodies the Knwls girl perfectly.”

Ahead of the ceremony, the model told Vogue she felt sexy in the ethereal dress, adding that Knwls’s designs “always feel modern and unique”. “You always feel cool wearing anything from Knwls.”

According to Charlotte and Alexandre, Lila loved the dress from the moment she saw it. “When she [first] put it on, she transformed and felt empowered, which is all we ever wanted”. Lila found the process smooth, too. “[The fitting] was super easy, we barely even needed to fit the dress – it slipped on.”

This Fashion Awards is a special night for Lila. Her dad, editor Jefferson Hack, will receive the Special Recognition Award for Cultural Curation (“I’m so excited to congratulate him on his award”), and she herself is nominated for Model of The Year alongside Adut Akech, Bella Hadid, Paloma Elsesser and Quannah Chasinghorse.

“It feels really surreal,” says the 20-year-old. “It’s definitely been the best year in my modelling journey so far, but I would have never imagined to be honoured like this.” Her career highlight from this year? “It was so special when my British Vogue cover with Steven Meisel came out,” recalls the super-in-the-making. “I couldn’t believe it was actually real.”
