Charges of election fraud persist in much of the U.S., two years after the most recent presidential race.
One political expert in La Crosse believes almost all of the election officials in this region are honest.
Retired UW-La Crosse political scientist Joe Heim argued on WIZM Friday that trying to rig election results isn’t worth the trouble.
“It’s a felony to do the kind of things that people are accusing them of doing,” Heim told WIZM’s La Crosse Talk. “Most people I know will not commit a felony just for the sake of a few votes.”
Most candidates for the 2024 presidential race are likely to launch their campaigns in this new year of 2023. Heim discounts many criticisms of the system as excuses.
