Khloe Kardashian is getting criticized by Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans who have an issue with her endorsing a controversial fashion company.
Khloe Kardashian’s latest brand endorsement is catching heat from the fans of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Khloe recently posted a photo announcing herself as a judge in a challenge started by the fashion brand SHEIN. The Chinese-based company tapped Khloe and two A-list celebrity fashion professionals to promote the new contest. However, Khloe is catching a lot of flack for the brand’s “unethical” reputation.
The Kardashian-Jenner family members are known for having multiple revenue streams. Whether they’re starting their own brands or endorsing an existing company, the famous family only makes business moves when money is involved. With everyone making it through the COVID-19 pandemic that put a damper on revenue streams everywhere, Khloe is doing her part in bringing home the bacon. In addition to running her Good American brand, Khloe is often featured in different product endorsements for migraine medicine, beauty, and skincare. Alas, it looks like Khloe doesn’t mind promoting a competitor as long as there’s money involved.
Over the week, Khloe Kardashian took to Instagram to announce her involvement in SHEIN’s new 100k challenge. “I am so excited to have teamed up with [SHEIN] to judge the [100k challenge],” Khloe revealed. “The SHEIN X Designer Incubator Program gives talented fashion designers the ability to design a collection for SHEIN that will be seen by fashionistas all around the world!” In the photo, Khloe modeled a SHEIN top with a low v-cut. However, not all of her followers were in support of her new endorsement.
The KUWTK fans flooded Khloe’s comments section with criticisms against the brand, with many of them noting SHEIN’s controversial reputation. “Shein is one of the most unethical fast fashion brands,” one critic said. “Is this a joke? After shein knocks off small designers,” added someone else. Another spectator found it comical that SHEIN would be promoting other designers considering the brand’s scarred history of allegedly copying the designs of other companies. While SHEIN isn’t the only big brand accused of copying styles, the retailer has grown in popularity bringing more attention to their scandals.
Another follower called out the irony of Khloe’s endorsement. “Lmao Shein supporting designers?! All they do is rip off small independent designers to make fast fashion,” they said. Others continued to blast the fast fashion issue that’s practiced all over the world. Alas, Khloe is doing what she does best: securing her funds. Along with Khloe, celebrity fashion designer Christian Siriano and celebrity stylist Law Roach will also serve as judges alongside the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star.
