Jonathan Majors marries Meagan Good following alleged assault confession

Jonathan Majors announced that he married Meagan Good in the wake of his domestic assault scandal and his Magazine Dreams press tour.

The Creed III star revealed that he and the Harlem actress tied the knot earlier this week during his interview with Sherri Shepherd on Sherri on Wednesday. “We finally got to do it, but it was always the plan,” Majors said. “I said to Meagan yesterday, I said, ‘Today might be the happiest day of my life. Yeah, I love that woman so much.”

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star, who was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in 2023, said that he asked Good’s father for permission before popping the question. “I asked her father first, in Paris, if that was alright, and he said, ‘That’s cool,'” Majors said before correcting himself. “It was a longer conversation.”

Majors said that his mother, who is a pastor, came to the Los Angeles screening of his long-delayed bodybuilding drama Magazine Dreams, which is out in theaters on Friday. “My mother had never been to one of my screenings, and we had told her, ‘Hey, we’re gonna do this thing.’ And we did,” he explained.  “My mother married us yesterday, her mother was there. And we got these rings, and we got ’em engraved in Hawaii.”

The news comes less than 48 hours after Rolling Stone reported that Majors was allegedly captured in an audio clip in which he appears to admit to strangling Jabbari during a 2022 altercation with his then-girlfriend.  “I’m ashamed I’ve ever— I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you,” the man believed to be Majors seemed to say to Jabbari in the audio clip.

Shepherd asked Majors about the Rolling Stone audio in a different portion of their interview. “This tape of you allegedly doing this is coming out now. How are you feeling about that?” the host asked.

Majors did not directly mention the recording, but said, “God has a plan. And sometimes you just throw your hands up, you know. I can’t speak about it, but I do know there’s a plan, and I’ve let go of control, and I say, ‘Whatever it is, it is.'”

Majors also did not directly speak about the Rolling Stone report in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly because of his settlement agreement with Jabbari. However, when the actor was asked how he would address his fans and critics in the wake of his conviction and other recent news, he said, “I would say I’m here. The movie’s coming out, and everybody’s free to make their own decisions on their opinion of the movie and their opinion of me…And if you’re a fan of mine, oh boy, do I love you, and I thank you and don’t give up because I won’t give up. And we are going to grow. And we’re going to heal. And it may not seem all good now, but it’s not over yet.”
