Jim Belushi and his wife, Jennifer Sloan, are calling it quits after 23 years.
The “Saturday Night Live” and “According to Jim” actor and comedian, 67, filed for divorce Friday in Los Angeles from Sloan, according to legal documents obtained by USA TODAY. Sloan, who has worked in Hollywood as a casting assistant and assistant voice director, is listed in the court filings as Jennifer Blair Belushi.
The former couple tied the knot in May of 1998 and share two children: Jamison Bess Belushi, 22, and Jared James Belushi, 19.

They reportedly filed for divorce previously in 2018, but later decided to reconcile and dismiss the case. Last year, Belushi acknowledged the couple’s past troubles in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, nothing that Sloan spends the majority of her time in Los Angeles where she runs a children’s boutique, while he runs a marijuana farm in Eagle Point, Oregon.
“I can’t go there,” Belushi said at the time when asked about the state of their relationship. “As of this moment, we’re still together.”
Belushi made waves in 2020 opening up about his choice to leave Hollywood in favor of starting up his farm, inspired in part as he continued to mourn his late brother, John Belushi, which was chronicled in his 2020 Discovery docuseries, “Growing Belushi.”
“I’ve done it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter of his time in Los Angeles. “I raised my kids there, went to all the premieres. I went to award shows. I’ve been to Toscana 1,600 times. I have a grateful feeling for the life I had there – I’m just moving on to kind of a new reinvention.”
Belushi was previously married to Sandy Davenport from 1980 to 1988, with whom he shares son Robert Belushi, 40. He was also married to Marjorie Bransfield from 1990 to 1992.

We ask for personal privacy for ourselves and our daughter as we navigate these new steps as a family,” the couple said in a joint statement.
Liam Payne publicly announced his split from his fiancée Maya Henry on the June 7 episode of “The Diary of a CEO” podcast. “I am indeed (single),” the former One Direction singer said. “I feel like more than anything at this point, I’m more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people. That annoys me. I’ve just not been very good at relationships.”
Blair Underwood and Desiree DaCosta are divorcing after 27 years of marriage. The couple announced their split in a joint statement shared May 31 on his official Instagram account and confirmed to USA TODAY by representative Lee Wallman.
“After a tremendous amount of thought, prayer & work on ourselves individually & collectively, we have come to the conclusion to end our marriage that began 27 years ago,” the statement reads. “It has truly been a beautiful journey.”
The “Quantico” and “When They See Us” star, 56, and DaCosta, seen in “Harlem Nights,” share three grown children: Paris, Brielle and Blake.
Jana Kramer has filed to divorce Mike Caussin after six years of marriage.
The country music star took to her Instagram on April 21 to address the split, saying that, though she still believes “wholeheartedly in marriage, love, and rebuilding,” she “just can’t fight any longer.”
Kramer and the former NFL player married in 2015 and share two children. In September, 2020, the couple released a book together titled “The Good Fight: Wanting to Leave, Choosing to Stay, and the Powerful Practice for Loving Faithfully.” According to its Amazon description, the book is about how Kramer and Caussin “decided to honor their forever love by battling it out and staying together, told from both sides.”
After a public flip-flop in February regarding the status of their relationship, Jennifer Lopez, 51, and Alex Rodriguez, announced April 15 they “realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” according to a statement shared exclusively with the “Today” show and confirmed to USA TODAY by a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly.
“We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects,” the statement continued. “We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.” Lopez and Rodriguez got engaged in March 2019. The couple was scheduled to tie the knot in Italy in June 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic hit mid-March. They each have two children.
Joseph “Joe Exotic” Maldonado-Passage and husband Dillon Passage are seeking a divorce, Passage announced March 26 on Instagram. Maldonado-Passage, 58, was made famous in Netflix’s 2020 docuseries “Tiger King,” which also included his marriage to Passage.
“This wasn’t an easy decision to make but Joe and I both understand that this situation isn’t fair to either of us,” Passage wrote. “It’s something that neither of us were expecting but we are going to take it day by day. We are on good terms still and I hope it can stay that way. I will continue to have Joe in my life and do my best to support him while he undergoes further legal battles to better his situation.”
Rappers Saweetie and Quavo, who have been romantically linked since 2018, called it quits: Saweetie announced March 19 on Twitter that she was single.
The “Best Friend” rapper (real name Diamonté Harper, 27) also called out the way Quavo (real name Quavious Marshall, 30) allegedly treated her behind closed doors. “I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character,” she wrote. “Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”
“Bachelor” star Matt James, 29, and his season’s winner, Rachael Kirkconnell, 24, broke up after James gave her the final rose following a racism controversy Kirkconnell and host Chris Harrison.
James revealed during the March 15 “After The Final Rose” finale episode that after the controversy broke and Rachael apologized and they broke up – he said he doesn’t think “anybody is irredeemable,” but there’s a “lot of work” Kirkconnell needed to do alone.
Destiny’s Child alum LeToya Luckett and Tommicus Walker announced Jan. 11 they had decided to get a divorce, nearly four months after welcoming their second child, Tysun.
“It is my deepest desire for us to be loving co-parents and keep a peaceful environment out of respect for our children,” Luckett wrote in an Instagram post.
