JD Sports Fashion PLC on Tuesday confirmed that it wasn’t searching for a new chairman or chief executive.
The sport-goods retailer said it wasn’t engaged in any process to replace Chairman Peter Cowgill, despite comments made by certain media outlets regarding Mr. Cowgill’s possible departure.
The FTSE 100 company said speculation was triggered by the group’s annual report issued last Thursday, as the release referred to “additional succession planning…occurred throughout the financial year following concerns relating to the single appointment of the executive chairman.”
JD Sports said Tuesday that it remains committed to continually review its management team to make sure it has the necessary skills and experience to exploit global development opportunities.
