EXCLUSIVE: Jackrabbit Media has picked up world sales rights and North American distribution on The Mannequin. The company will introduce the title to international buyers at this week’s Cannes market.
The Mannequin is written and directed by John Berardo (Initiation) and stars Isabella Gomez (One Day at a Time), Krystle Martin (The Mean One), Lindsay LaVanchy (Predator: Killer of Killers), Jack Sochet (Smile) and Maxwell Hamilton (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore).
The film follows Liana Rojas (Gomez), who discovers the downtown Los Angeles building where her sister died is haunted by the ghost of a mutilation-obsessed killer. As possession grips the group, Liana and her friends must uncover the building’s secrets before they too lose their lives—or limbs.
Jackrabbit Media CEO Jack Campbell describes the film “a tense and stylish new take on possession horror with real commercial upside.”
“Working with Jackrabbit has been an absolute pleasure,” Berardo said in a statement. “Their passion and deep understanding of the indie horror space make them the perfect home for a film like The Mannequin. From day one, they’ve shown a true commitment to supporting bold, unsettling human stories, and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with a team that truly gets what makes horror so powerful.”
The deal was negotiated by Mark Padilla from Jackrabbit Media and the producers of The Mannequin.
